Blocking Water and Floods
Flash floods occur in low-lying areas in the Kingdom after being affected by heavy rainfall within a short period of time. This leads to the accumulation of large quantities of water and its natural flow towards lower areas, which results to the occurrence of floods and the accumulation of this water laden with substances may cause clogging of the drain gutters.
What should I do before a flood occurs?
Follow-up on warnings through various media outlets about rainfall or floods, and adhere to the instructions issued by the relevant authorities about the prevailing weather conditions.
اStay away from areas most at risk of flooding.
The use of waterproofing materials in basement floors (sandbags, bricks).
Notify the relevant authorities of any blockage in water drains.
Remove objects that may drift and obstruct drainage.
Keep vehicles away from low garages or flood streams.
Ensure that there is safe access to electric circuit breaker and gas lines to cut them off if needed.
Be careful not to touch wet electricity sources.
