A memorandum of understanding was signed today, Monday, between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and The government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan , with the aim of enhancing joint cooperation between the two countries and exchanging expertise in the field of crises and disaster management.
The memorandum was signed on behalf of the Jordanian government by the Vice Chairman of the center, Brigadier General Hatem Al-Zoubi, and on behalf of the Azerbaijani government by the Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Kamaladdin Heydarov.
This cooperation includes the exchange of experiences and lessons learned in crises and disaster management in Azerbaijan, particularly in the field of natural disasters, participation in national exercises to be held by both sides, implementation of joint courses, and the exchange of information and tools related to the risks of climate change and earthquakes.
The Azerbaijani delegation also received a comprehensive briefing on the Center's philosophy and the concept of operation at both the strategic and operational levels in dealing with crises, and its role in unifying all national efforts to create a safe and stable national environment. During the tour, the delegation was introduced on the Center's operating mechanisms, procedures, and strategic plans in dealing with various disasters and crises as well as its modern equipment designed to address changes in the strategic environment at the local, regional, and international levels.
